When visiting Seoul for business, most travelers have limited free time. After completing their important tasks, they may have a brief moment of leisure, but it might not be enough to plan a full sightseeing itinerary.

What is certain, however, is that they need rest and rejuvenation. Even a short experience of Seoul’s seasonal landscapes, cultural highlights, and unique activities can make their "bleisure" time truly special.

This survey is designed to identify the best seasons for enjoying bleisure in Seoul, as perceived by business travelers, and the reasons behind their preferences.

| 1st: Autumn

Each of Seoul’s four seasons is beautiful and distinctive, but autumn stands out as the most favored by many. With its cool and pleasant weather, ideal for outdoor activities, it draws numerous tourists to explore various attractions across the city, enjoying its diverse food and sights.

Many visitors, in particular, enjoy wearing traditional hanbok while touring palaces or exploring traditional markets, making autumn the perfect season for outdoor activities and the most popular choice for bleisure travel.

Seoul offers an array of attractions, including historical palaces where Joseon Dynasty kings once lived, traditional hanok villages, and more. These make it an excellent destination for business travelers to take a brief break and enjoy the city’s charm.

| 2nd: Winter

Winter in Seoul is a season that offers stunning sights rarely seen at other times of the year. On snowy days, peaceful scenes like icicles hanging from the eaves of palaces or hanok roofs create a tranquil atmosphere that soothes the soul.

Although Seoul's winter is bitterly cold, even for those accustomed to living in frigid climates, the abundance of warm and comforting food makes the chill worth braving. Many head outdoors to savor winter specialties like tteokbokki, steaming fish cake soup, steamed buns, and hotteok, knowing these delicious street foods await them.

Moreover, Seoul is home to numerous indoor attractions that can be enjoyed regardless of the cold weather. This combination of outdoor charm and indoor warmth makes winter a beloved season for many visitors to the city.

| Tied for 3rd and 4th: Spring and Summer

Spring and summer in Seoul are just as beloved by many as autumn and winter. However, spring can often be challenging for outdoor activities due to yellow dust, and Korea’s summer, with its high humidity and heat—especially during the monsoon season when it may rain all day—can make it difficult for foreign visitors to adapt. These factors might explain why spring and summer are slightly less favored compared to autumn and winter.

That said, Seoul is equipped with excellent air-conditioning facilities almost everywhere, and its convenient public transportation system, including the subway, makes it easy to travel to any desired location. Even during severe yellow dust days or the rainy season, visitors can comfortably reach their destinations and enjoy a wide range of indoor activities.

By focusing on promoting these advantages to bleisure tourists, Seoul could see an increase in visitors eager to experience the city’s charm not only in autumn and winter but throughout all four seasons.
